St John, Virgin Islands. This was an ongoing site there; A cow nursing a baby pig. It has been going on for as long as I can remember. Not sure which cow started it or why. It is not all the cows, usually you will just see one cow nursing a pig. These are Moses’ cows who lives in the valley, Cows run free so it is common to have to wait for them to cross the road.

Happy Birthday Moremi.
I have known you since you were two. Your mother would push you around Warfside Village in a stroller. She would come visit me when I worked at Freebird Creation Jewelry store. You did not seem to mind because you always had a big smile on your face. And oh what a face you had. You were one of the most adorable little girls I had ever seen. Your hair was black, big and beautiful. Your skin was a golden dark brown, eyes big and brown. Your mother always had lots of colors to brighten you up, lots of African bracelets and hair clips, deep greens mixed with reds and yellows. She would dress you in the softest, most comfortable, cute cotton clothes. A lot of care and love went into your day-to-day safeguarding.
I think every child comes into this world with there own agenda. You definitely had yours. As a child you were very headstrong. This might be tuff on the parents but deep down we are always happy for the headstrong children because we know they are survivors. You can come up against most anything and at the end of the battle you will be riding on top swinging your flag with a big smile and lots of people smiling with you. You just have this aura about you that people want to be around. You radiate something special.
You and your mom might of banged heads a bit but you were always polite. I loved hearing your voice. It had a little gravel but very feminine. You would say, “Hello Jeanie, Hi Jeanie, How are you doing today? Bonjoir!” as you jumped on the trampoline.

You were always nice to my kids, as you can see in this picture. When you would first see people for the day you would have a warm greeting for them as if you were truly happy to see them. Not everyone has this quality. This is a special thing, to make others feel welcomed.
Now you have a family of your own. I know you will pass on the love you were given along with plenty much more of your own.
Happy 21st. May life send you blessings and happiness.

Growing up in St John has many advantages and a few disadvantages. I always felt it was an ideal place to be until your teenage years. Some teens may argue with me about this and actually I could come up with a few good arguments myself, but who better to argue with than myself.
Here it goes.
The beach is a great daytime activity for anyone of any age. There are walks on the beach and trails close to the beach for young and old; there is windsurfing, sailing, and body surfing. Depending on the weather there is surfing, skin boarding, and kite surfing. When you add an actual boat into the picture then you have dinghies, motorboats, jet skis and sailboats. A boat can pull you by ropes to wake boards and ski. You can go spear fishing and scuba diving.
A lot of this takes money and if the money’s not there, these kids still find a way; they work for the vendors for trade to use their boats, they find friends with boats or they just hang out at the beach.

Kokopelli magik
I really am not good at consistency. Not much in my life is consistant. If I had to name them, I could, on a very small list.
That’s it. I never eat at the same time, I never wake up at the same time or walk the dog at the same time. I could go on and on but I would definitely bore you and me, klunk……………………….zzzzzzzzzzz. (The klunk was my head hitting the keyboard).
I was going to cook something everyday last week and post it. That never happened so let’s see if I can do it once a week.
Here’s my world famous Banana Bread. I took top trophy-I believe they call it first place- at the “IN MY HEAD” competition in La La Land. side note, I really did live in a subdivision named La La Land. It was in the valley in St. John.
Banana Bread
Cream butter and sugar. Mix eggs and mash banana. Mix dry ingredients and add to wet. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees in greased bunt pan
Hope you all enjoy this as much as we are right now, YUM. It really is nice to eat something fresh made and not made in a factory……..who knows when?

“I’m so hungry, who’s going to make me lunch, oh yeah…me, who else?”
These are my thoughts as I’m riding my bike for exercise to get rid of the middle age roll.
Did I just say roll?
I meant rollssssssss.
So what did a good mother like me make?
A Stroller.
A what?
You call it a veggie wrap, I call it a Stroller. This is the name I know it as from the days when Luscious Licks was alive and well in St John. The owner, Bonnie Corbeil, turned the whole island into Stroller freaks.
Here’s my version, today anyway.
